DC Variable Power Supplier Circuit Using IC LM317/LM117

Here, this project helps you to make a 0-37V variable DC Power supplier by your own. The components are so cheap and easy to understand the operation.
Circuit Diagram:

Fig: Schematic Diagram for 0~37V variable Power Supply.
Components:
  1. T1= Step down transformer of 37V max.
  2. D1=D2=D3=D4= 1N4002;
  3. C1= 2200uF, 63V;
  4. C2=C3= 1 uF Ceramic disc capacitor ;
  5. R1= 220 ohms;
  6. POT= 5k ohms;
  7. D4= 1N4007 or Equivalent;
  8. U1= LM317 or LM117;
*You can use one capacitor instead of C1 & C2. But total capacitance should be nearer to that value.

Operation:
In this circuit the V1 supplies 220/120V AC voltage. Transistor T1 help to step down the voltage level to 40V. Bridge Rectifier will rectify the voltage to 40V DC. Until this point you can get 40V DC supply. But it is not fully DC. So the capacitor C1 & C2 would help to make the voltage DC. C3 contributes to filter the voltage level. Now, the IC will regulate this voltages according to your demand by varying the R2. C4 will again filter the output voltage.. The D1 is connected to keep the IC safe in the absence of V1.

Precaution:
This Circuit was tested. Be careful about working with 220V AC or High Voltage supply. Author will not be responsible for any mistakenly Danger.
